Sunday Social - Childhood times

1. What were you like in middle school and high school?
Well, I was two different people. Middle school I was beginning to come out of my little shell and had tons of adventures with friends. I was really outgoing, sometimes outspoken, just having fun being a KID. I mean, right?  I was only 12 and 13! When I got into high school I ended up at a new school every year and usually started off with 0 friends. I was really shy and scared most of the time so I kept to myself a lot. But I did have fun with the people I later became friends with. There was a bunch of things going on in my personal life during HS so like most people it was difficult to adapt and get control of my emotions- I was all over the place. Teenage angst anyone? Oddly enough I was the one that most of my friends would come to for advice on things. I will say though that when I was safe in the comfort of my closest friends I was crazy-off-the-wall! Only with a select few would I let loose and be this 'extroverted and outgoing' person.

2. What were your favorite pastimes?
Reading was my number one thing. I have always loved reading and writing! I used to go to the library across the street and check out 5 or 6 books at a time. I was the girl who would take home all those books the school librarian put outside with a 'for free' sign to get rid off them and make room for newer books.
Besides that singing was something I was known for. I don't even know how so many people knew or even cared but I'd meet people in high school and they'd say 'oh yeah, I know you. I heard you can sing.' Instant embarrassment.

3. What songs were you obsessed with?
Oh man, well anything with a happy-sugary-pop vibe or any kind of love song is what I'd usually be caught listening to. But growing up my parents would listen to a lot of Motown and old school classics AKA grown folks music so I was really into that as well. Same as today I had a new favorite song every week. Plus when I'd hang out with friends they'd introduce me to all their favorite artists and things so my music taste was (and is) constantly changing.

4. What fashion statement do you look backing and cringe?
Every fashion statement I've ever made haha! But at the same time, I feel like when you're young and still in school that's the perfect time to experiment. Unless you go to a private school or something there's usually no restrictions on what you can and can't look like. When you're still a teenager you can get away with pretty much anything! So I tired just about everything! My only regret is that it was very short lived- like a few days at a time. I didn't really go all out every time so I wish I would have been CRAZIER while I still had the chance.

However, THIS has to have been the worst of it. And yes, I actually went to school like this.

5. Who was your celeb crush?
I honestly don't even remember! O__O I had a new crush every day it seemed. I guess whoever was the hottest thing at the time haha! OH WAIT I TAKE THAT BACK! I remember being obsessed with Justin Nozuka and his hair. He's a singer, songwriter, and guitar player (the ultimate dream) and he made a lot of the songs that I had on repeat all the time back in the day!
*does quick youtube search*    yup, he's still swoon-worthy!!!

6. What was your favorite movie?
Disney movies. I can't pick just one! I love all kinds of movies but the only ones I seem to be able to watch a million times and never get tired of are the old school Disney animations. I'm talking Pocahontas, Thumbelina, The Little Mermaid, Toy Story, Monsters Inc, I know you all know THE CLASSICS!

  2. You were too cute. You had some kind of fashion going on. I love it.

My father owned a night club and I was always listening to grown folks music that apparently I knew nothing about when people heard me singing. LOL, I find myself saying the same thing to my kids.

    Happy Sunday,
