The No Makeup TAG!

1. Scouts honor that you aren't wearing any makeup?
Scouts honor!

2. Do you feel different with your makeup on and off?
Absolutely. With it I feel like I'm slightly more aware about what I look like at all times and I'm extra careful not to touch my face or anything. Without makeup I'm in just a WHATEVER mode.

3. What is one makeup product you can not live without?
MASCARA!!!  I feel like I'm naked without it. I mean, It's great being able to wipe my eyes all I want.... but without at least one coat of mascara I look really sleepy/tired. Unfortunately my eyes are a boring shade of brown like most of the Earth's population. But I've learned how to do my makeup in a way that brings them out and makes them appear even bigger and brighter! (not to mention that's what colored contact lenses are for!)

3. What is one makeup product you can live without?
Hmmm, foundation?  Concealer? I've never actually used any 'face' makeup truthfully. Only eye makeup and lipsticks.

4. Do you feel confident without makeup on?
No. Which is silly because with the exception of mascara I'm makeup-free like 90% of the time. Granted, I spend most of my time at home without anyone else around but all in all this discomfort is for my own good. In a way I'm kinda forcing myself to change the way I feel about myself by NOT wearing a bunch of makeup everyday, you know? Forcing myself to be confident.

5. Which part of your face do you like the most?
I have little dimples underneath my smile. And you can really see them when I talk. My dad and my grandmother have the same dimples. I don't know why but I've always really loved that.

6. Where is one place you will never go without makeup on?
Anywhere I'm guaranteed to meet cute boys. DON'T JUDGE ME!

7. Where is one place you can go without makeup on?
The grocery store. Honestly anything goes there. Nobody cares if you look like a movie star when you're in aisle 3 trying to get your cereal.

8. Would you rather go without makeup for a week? or let your significant other do your makeup for an entire week?
HA! Well assuming my boyfriend doesn't have any cosmetology experience I'd go with the no makeup option! Better safe than sorry!

9. To you, is inner or outer beauty more important?
Inner beauty will always trump outer beauty. Outer beauty = only what you look like and who you appear to be. Inner beauty = who you are and what your heart looks like.

10. What's real beauty to you?
I actually talked about this a few months ago HERE

11. What makes you feel beautiful?
Lipstick and a pretty dress never hurts :)

I tag YOU!! If you'd like to do this tag then by all means do it! I wasn't tagged by anyone (I never am) but who cares. Just copy the questions, wash your face, snap a picture or record a video. But don't forget to comment below if you do! I'd love to see it!! Take care you beautiful thing, you :)

Friday Letters

Dear extremely rude customers, 95% of your arguments are invalid. However, I refuse to let your bad attitude ruin my good days. I will not take it personally. I will not argue back. I will not lose my patience. I will continue to do my job and serve you with a smile. But could you please just take a breath and calm down? You're making all the other customers reaaally uncomfortable. Thanks and please come again! Dear green tea, I've been cheating on you with black tea.... and I think I love him. Dear legs, man oh man you have been getting some serious exercise! What are we up to? 10 miles since last Monday? And so far you're doing a great job of not making me feel like I wanna pass out. So thanks for that. You're getting stronger every time. Dear Pandora playlist, you've been filling me up with so much happy tingly feelings! Dear parents, lately I feel like I have your full attention. And that makes me feel so important. I feel like you care. Dear mean neighborhood boys, okay look. I know I look like I'm your age, but I am not. I am a grown woman and if you continue to harass me I am not afraid to knock on your mamas door and tell her all the names you think are so hilarious to shout at me. Dear F21, thanks for sending my package 3 days earlier than I expected!!! Your clothes may not always be fantastic quality but you've always had really fast shipping! Oh, and high-five for staying true to the pictures online! Dear Gabrielle Aplin, I wish I had a voice like yours. Dear bloggers, will one of you PLEASE take me apple picking with you?! There's literally nothing like that out here and you all make it sound so amazing. So until I receive my invite I'll be taking a trip 'apple picking' by myself at the grocery store down the street.

Oh Puppy Love

RELEVANT MUSIC FOR THIS POST:
I Do Adore by Mindy Gledhill on Grooveshark

"When you’re near I hide my blushing face
And trip on my shoelaces
Grace just isn’t my forté
But it brings me to my knees when you say
Hello! How are you my darling, today?
I fall into a pile on the floor
Puppy love is hard to ignore
When every little thing you do, I do adore"

If you haven't heard of Mindy Gledhill PLEASE go check her out! I am obsessed with literally everything that woman comes out with! All of her music is so heartwarming and happy :)

-----------------------------------------
If you've been with me for a while then by now you know that I'm addicted to love. And puppy love is probably my favorite. It's definitely one of the feelings I try to remember as often as I can. Infatuation, a crush, puppy love, admiration, fantasy, it goes by so many names. But we all know the feeling.
That rush in your stomach like the free fall of a roller coaster.
Giggling every time they speak even though what they've said wasn't funny.
Getting excited when they come around and finding yourself bumping into them by 'accident.'
Half-listening and half-watching the adorable way they talk.
Melting when they say your name.
Feeling bashful and slightly awkward with every conversation.
The stuttering.
The clumsiness.
Hugs that you wish lasted longer.
The constant daydreams that you just don't want to end.
Replaying conversations in your mind not realizing the stupid smile on your face.
Feeling like every love song ever must have been written just for you.

It's innocent. It's cutesy. And it's really really mushy.
But it's also fleeting.
For a short time- a day, a week, a month, a year, everything is amazing. You feel amazing. You feel that the other person is truly truly amazing and perfect and cute and everything you could ever want. All you wanna do is hug 'em and kiss 'em for a million years... And then it just ends. Something they did or said, something you did or said, or maybe just time itself has snapped you back to reality and the feelings are gone. Your eyes are suddenly opened and all of those wonderful things you felt become a memory. A distant memory.
"Catch a falling star and put it in your pocket, never let it fade away.
Catch a falling star and put it in your pocket, save it for a rainy day."
Just the same way that we remember guilt, regret, sadness, and hate we can bring back the good emotions whenever we want! I have never been in love before, but I've had my fair share of crushes. I tucked all those butterflies away safely in my little pocket and use them whenever I want.
The Princess Diaries was definitely on to something with that song...
And the song above does a great job of encompassing all the feels.
Isn't it lovely to have a song that matches literally every human emotion and experience?

You were born to bloom!

Bloom by Moriah Peters - www.ouvirmusicasdegraca.com on Grooveshark

Just keep believing
You'll see a new season soon
You're turning into something amazing
Baby, you were born to bloom

I'll admit, I'm a lover of sad sappy songs. Give me a depressing song of heartbreak or an angsty song about being misunderstood and you got me. But lately all I'm in the mood for is encouraging, happy, inspiring, lovey-dovey songs! It's good to have balance I suppose. Coupled with the fact that things are going so good in my life right now. My self-confidence is getting a little better (I'm wearing lipsticks again!!), I'm out of the house more than once a month, making $$$, and eating better. I mean, God has just been so good to me man, I wish I could make you understand.

Ecclesiastes 3:1-22 "For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven: a time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up what is planted; a time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up; a time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance; a time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing..."

We all go through seasons. Of happiness, struggle, friendship, heartbreak, maybe even periods of being stagnated (like me). But seasons change. That is something that will always be true. Good or bad everything changes. I find that I'm often stagnated- more often because of my own doing than not. Main reason being that I become not complacent but I guess just really comfortable not moving forward. But I know logically if I ever want to live my life, proceed, and progress I must ACCEPT and EMBRACE change. Not only that but cause change.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
We are a lot like flowers.
First a seed need to be planted. Then it grows it roots and breaks through the earth. The lil stems reach towards the sun and grows into a tiny little bud. And when the time is right and it has enough strength it blooms into a beautiful flower... or a weed haha! But while it's going through all these changes there are different seasons- surviving the cold hard winter when the conditions are much too hard for most flowers to grow (at least on the surface). But then comes the rain and wind threatening to drown the poor thing. Little does it know it's being watered not drowned. Out comes the sun and dried up all the rain just in time for spring + summer! It's time to shine and maybe even pollinate amirightladies ;)

*omg I'm really bad with analogies*

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

But I like to think of things this way:
  • It starts sometimes as small as a seed (see also: Luke 17:6)
  • Take all the time that is necessary to work internally - trees and flowers must grow roots before they can sprout fruit and flowers
  • Realize that you are being watered, not drowned.
  • You won't just magically show up one day. Everyday you reach a little higher toward the sun as you become stronger.
  • You will know when it's time. You will know when a new season is coming. (see also Matthew 24:32)
  • When you finally bloom and you find that others who used to pass you by on the sidewalks or in the garden are now starting to realize you beauty, you may find that you are attracting a few bees. But don't worry! Bees are a good sign!
  • The sun will always shine, you can count on that.

You're probably thinking earlier I forgot about the fall season right?
Well unfortunately that's a very hard season for flowers because unfortunately that's when most flowers (and trees) wither away and die. But the beauty in that is you get to start again! Did you see what I did there? I believe that the language you use is extremely important. Turn that negative into a positive!! Don't think of it as "I have to start all over." Think instead, "I get to start again." It doesn't mean that all is lost, you now have the chance to pick a new dream, a fresh start!! The chance to make it whatever you want you majestic wildflower!!!

Song of Solomon 2:11-13 "For behold, the winter is past; the rain is over and gone. The flowers appear on the earth, the time of singing has come, and the voice of the turtledove is heard in our land. The fig tree ripens its figs, and the vines are in blossom; they give forth fragrance. Arise, my love, my beautiful one, and come away."

  ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The end of one phase isn't the end of the process. It's just the next step.
